Links to support Literacy:  Here are some links to resources and websites with games to play.

  • We are learning our first 24 sight words. These are the most common high frequency words the children will come across in their early reading books. This is a slideshow to go with the pink laminated word cards that came home in our book bags.

  • Once we have mastered our pink word cards Koka Janna & Koka Jodie will send home a set of words that are commonly found in the red level reading books.

  • Once we have mastered our red word cards,  Koka Janna & Koka Jodie will send home a set of words that are found in the yellow level reading books.

  • Once we have mastered our yellow word cards, Koka Janna & Koka Jodie will send home a set of words that are found in the blue level reading books.

  • Once we have mastered our blue word cards, Koka Janna & Koka Jodie will send home a set of words that are found in the green level reading books.   
  • Once we have mastered our green word cards, Koka Janna & Koka Jodie will send home a set of words that are found in the orange level reading books.   By this stage you will notice that your child has learned how to decode many of the sound combinations and will be able to learn them quite quickly. This is the last set of words we send home to learn.
  • Here is our sound word card that we use to play Bingo and help us write our stories.
