A Teddy Bears Party
Then we wondered if there were any other ways we could sort them. We put them at "Party tables" where they had something that was the same or similar. There was a lot of thinking and discussion as we tried to decide which table our Teddy could belong to.

B is for Bear Poem Art
Our Friday Poem was called My Teddy Bear. We painted a Capital B each and then added paws, ears and a mouth to make it look like a Teddy Bear. Here we all are, super proud of the mahi in our poem books. Next week we are going to bring our favourite teddy bears to school for a "Teddy Bears Picnic."Hudson and Morpy the Morepork are looking forward to making some new friends.

It's Good to Play , Everyday!
Play is an important part of our programme in Ngā Ngāru. The executive functioning skills are supported and further developed through play.
Executive functioning skills include; self awareness, working memory, emotional regulation, planning and problem solving.
Most importantly though, play brings us joy and happiness. Play is FUN!
You can see updates and read more about your child in our play programme by checking out our play stories wall in class.
We are always looking for new things to put into our play programme. Leave a comment below and tell us the sorts of things you used to like to do as a child.

What we found out...
After we had sorted the fruit into groups we found out that most children in Ngā Ngāru like strawberries the best. Some children grouped their fruit slightly differently and were able to say that most children in Ngā Ngāru liked red fruit. One group said that most children in Ngā Ngāru liked berries the best. We showed lots of great thinking while we were sorting.
Now Hudson knows that most children in Ngā Ngāru like strawberries best!
Great work Ngā Ngāru!
Our Favourite Fruit
Hudson the hedgehog wrote us a letter. He wanted to know which was our favourite fruit to eat. We each drew a picture of our favourite fruits. We photocopied them and then in pairs we sorted them in lots of different ways. Here we are working with a buddy to sort out how we could show Hudson what we had found out. There was a lot of thinking and discussion as we worked together to organise our ideas ready to answer Hudson.
So.... What did we find out??? Tune in to find out.
